Allit expects reliability and service.
The company Allit is based in Bad Kreuznach Germany.
The medium-sized family business was founded in 1960 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2010.
Allit has as its motto "Competence & Knowledge determine Sophisticated Technology".
Traditionally Allit is well known for their stack storage boxes and tool boxes, but also solutions are develloped together with clients for products which are not only composed out of plastics, but also out of other materials.
In total Allit owns 63 injection molding machines which produce around the clock. In 2010 Allit was listed in the top 100 most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany.
Service and ReliabilityWe had a conversation with Karsten Kallinowsky (at the right on the photo), member of the board of Allit AG. In his position Mr. Kallinowski concentrates mainly on the production.
In the production all processes must run optimal. Allit is constantly trying to improve the production processes. Mr. Kallinowsky describes it as a circle where every key element of production is addressed to achieve this.
The focus of the improvements are on the cooling of the molds and mold design improvements. But also on optimizing the automation. The machines are also part of this cycle.
Allit produces 24 / 7 and Mr. Kallinowski therefore indicates that the reliability of the machines and quality of service are important, because production speeds have to increase, to be able to maintain even shorter lead times.
Mr. Kallinowski indicates that from a certain product the cycle time was reduced from 30 to 20 seconds, so there's plenty of potential for improvement.

Approximately one third of the machines produce the same product continuously. But with two thirds of the machines mold changes are very frequent. The machine changeover time therfore is also of importance.
According to Hr. Kallonowsky the production process is becoming increasingly dynamic. There is much flexibility required in order introduce all developments and innovations in the production process. He therefore expects that machine suppliers in the future will have to provide more technical support, because the new developments also will require optimizing the performance of the machines.
Choosing STORK
In 2005, Allit bought its first Stork machine. Stork has a reputation for providing reliable and fast machines. This fits perfectly with the ideas of Allit to optimize production. Because the available floor space is always limited, a good accessibility of the machine for quick mold changes is important. On production start up and setting up the molds, the ease of use of the machine is a determining factor.
The first machine was a Stork S 6600-5650 with a clamping force of 660 tons. Where appropriate aftercare was required the service from Stork proved to be very satisfactory.
In 2007 and 2009 therefore Allit invested in new machinery from Stork again. Now, in 2011, Allit has continued to increase its number of Stork machines with the purchase of 4 new machines ranging in clamping force of 150 to 440 tons.
The total number of machines at Stork Allit now stands at 12, with an average of 430 tons clamping force.
Stork delivers customized machines, so in future the machines can be adapted for further optimizations of the production at Allit.
